Know any good UK charities?

I am running 100 miles in August for charity but as yet have not decided on which charity I am going to raise money for. Does anyone have any good ideas? The charity needs to be UK based. Personally I would like to raise money for the local cats/dogs and guinea pigs home but that is not proving popu...

This is one of those topics where I really feel I am on solid spiritual ground. There is SUCH a large combined weight of theological opinion and scripture/literature in support of corporal mortifiaction that it appears to be, in my opinion, a 'no brainer.'

...But just try and get them to see it!! :D
